255 x 190mm, half-title, frontis verso, title, 59p.  illust., 12 fine wood cuts of plants and tress by William Geissler and water-colour micrographs of plant fibres by William J. Macaulay.  Bound in blue cloth, silver crest to board and lettering to spine. A clear plastic viewing grid for use with the micrographs, laid in.  Brown paper d/w, llettred in blue, not clipped.

A work describing the sources and structures of some plant and fibres used in paper making.  Internally very good with slight age toning of the paper.  Early ink inscription for ffep.  An area of damp damage to the centre of the front board leeching some colour from the cloth and masked by the d/w.
